When our end draws near
and my love falls apart
I begin to feel a call
from the reaper within the walls,
the snake in my garden
beckoning me
crying out my name
alluring a returning
to a bed of ash and ruin;
begging the question
what’s one more log
in the fire of my iniquities?
But I cling tightly to you, my God
I will never let you go
wrap our wrists in righteousness, my God
lead me through valleys I cannot know
give me intimations of the highest, my God
let Your glory be shown.
When the earth quakes
and I am bitten by snakes
I will choose
to love you through everything;
collapse and calamity
cannot withstand me
when I seek shelter in Your shadow,
from a place laid low
dousing the flames
purifying the intentions of my aims
a living declaration of your fame
for Your revival is unrivaled
it shall know no bounds
and when the Deep shouts against us,
we will hear no sound
for our souls have awakened
foundations now never to be shaken
by the Love I put my faith in
my spirit finds renewed resolve.
